Leading the charge at Haynes Benefits is Andy Haynes. Andy has a lifelong interest in health and mental health issues and continues those interests in his practice. He practices health benefits law, and has the experience and expertise to provide innovative solutions for complying with Health Care Reform. As a known national authority on health benefits, Andy has led hundreds of seminars, webinars, and media events to various private and public sector audiences.

Andy is a current author of two manuals published by the Employee Benefits Institute of America (“EBIA”), HIPAA Portability, Privacy and Security and Group Health Plans: Federal Mandates Other Than COBRA & HIPAA.

Andy works regularly with insurer, plan, and service provider clients in health benefits matters, including plan design, compliance, documentation, implementation, tax qualification and risk management.In assembling his team, he has taken great strides to assure that all attorneys know health benefits law, and also the benefits industry and economics.

Andy is a Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel.

Andy has thousands of hours as a lecturer with EBIA and other prominent employee benefits organizations, teaching in 10 to 15 cities each year. He has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal and other national publications.

Known as the “Singing Benefits Lawyer,” Andy’s seminars combine his passion for benefits law and music in a unique manner creating informative and entertaining seminars.

Andy received his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and his law degree from Emory University School of Law, where he was Research Editor of the Emory Law Journal. He is licensed to practice in Missouri and Kansas and has been active in the Missouri Bar, having served a three-year term as chairperson of the Employee Benefits Committee and a six-year term as chairperson of the Department of Insurance Liaison Committee.

Andy serves on the Board of Directors of the American Jazz Museum.He is an active musician in his church band and the occasional gig.Andy and his wife split their time between Kansas City and Sanibel Island.
