An expert in employee benefits, as well as employment and labor law (which are uniquely interrelated specialties) Bob is putting his 20 years of experience to work for the clients of Haynes Benefits. Bob’s focus is on the design and interpretation of pension, profit sharing, non-qualified deferred compensation, welfare benefit and other ERISA employee benefit plans. He also counsels plan sponsors and trustees regarding IRS and ERISA rules and requirements while interpreting regulatory and compliance matters.
One of Bob’s notable client representations involved the Retired Pilots Committee in the Delta Air Lines bankruptcy case. Bob’s efforts contributed to achieving landmark results in Delta’s bankruptcy on behalf of the Pilot retirees. Bob’s extensive background encompasses labor negotiations and multi-employer benefit plan matters. He also counsels clients on wrongful terminations and harassment. In addition, Bob represents clients before the National Labor Relations Board, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, state HR/EEO Commissions and the Department of Labor. Bob graduated from Phillips University and received his law degree from Washburn University magna cum laude and is the former chairperson for the employee benefit committee for the KCMBA. An author of numerous articles, Bob frequently conducts training seminars and workshops on employee benefits and employment law topics. Bob gives back to his community with his involvement in Boy Scouts of America and the Catholic Youth Organization. |
